Handmade in Edinburgh, what gives our bags their unique appeal and timeless look is our expertise in traditional saddlery techniques and the making of classic British case and bags. The leather we use is unique and distinctive because over time it gains character from its wear giving it a worn charm. The company was founded on the Isle of Arran where it quickly grew. By 1990 they had opened a shop on Edinburgh’s picturesque Victoria street. In 2004 the Arran and Edinburgh businesses started to trade independently. In 2011 the Mackenzie’s in Edinburgh was bought by myself, Simon Harvey Potts. In 2002 I started working as an apprentice in time-honoured fashion, to become a master of the trade and then the owner. I’m absolutely passionate about my work and hand producing bespoke leather goods and bags that are one of a kind and full of character. Now firmly in the 21st century we feature new types of the very finest Italian & Spanish soft hide leathers. We also offer a range of new styles of bags and products as well as colours and the ability to personalise your bag. Our passion, motivation and inspiration comes from crafting the very best leather goods and bags in the finest Italian & Spanish leather.
